Davide Fregonese Winery

Davide Fregonese was born in Turin, Piedmont, in 1970 from an Apulian mother who owns land that is partly planted with vineyards; here the family spends the summers and produces wine for their own consumption. The father, born in Veneto, loves bringing quality wine to the table, and Davide learns to appreciate it as much as his parents.

Davide continues his studies, graduates in industrial engineering, deals with finance, business, also works on the Italian stock exchange, and with the aim of making known the prices of the largest wineries he organizes an event where certainly there is no shortage of important bottles .

The desire to search for his origins was born in him, dreaming of a different life he decided to invest in the Piedmontese land of wine and buy in those areas so renowned and famous in the world. The arduous undertaking takes place after years of waiting, when Davide manages to buy just over half a hectare of Cerretta, and shortly after half a hectare of Prapò, two vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba in the province of Cuneo.

Thus was born the farmby Davide Fregonese "Bugia Nen" from the Piedmontese dialect "Bogianen" which means 'Don't move'. He completely entrusts the skills of those who know how to make wine well, namely two producers from the area, Luigi Vico and Davide Rosso, and the owner of the Giovanni Rosso winery in Serralunga d'Alba.

Enthusiastic by the events, and in collaboration with Davide Rosso, Fregonese buys 13 hectares of vineyards in Castiglione di Sicilia on the slopes of Etna in the North East side. Here he produces Etna Rosso DOC Riserva, a harmonious, balanced and structured wine thanks to the 10 days of fermentation and the subsequent maturation of six months in oak barrels that give it hints of red fruit, rose and violet.

In Piedmont, on the other hand, it produces an extraordinary Langhe DOC, a red first vintage 2014 with just over 1000 bottles; a mixture of Nebbiolo and other local grapes, a fresh and delicate wine with aromas of rose, violet and hints of cherry is fermented in concrete and aged in French oak barrels.
Another specialty is the Barolo DOCG Cerretta, the most binding wine, fermented in cement and aged in oak barrels for 30 months, characterized by hints of fruit with a delicious undergrowth finish. The Barolo DOCG Prapò is instead the more austere, with a few more days of fermentation and the same refinement as the Cerretta; conquer the hints of blackberry and blueberry, with spicy notes of light incense and cloves.
