The Family Statella company was founded in 2016 when Calogero Statella and his wife Rita bought the first vineyard in the Pettinociarelle district, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia (North Etna) and decided to produce wine. 

They summarize their production philosophy in these few sentences in which they say:

"Etna: the land where we were both born. In this unique viticultural context, the artisanal approach to wine production represents the only way to better express the genotype-environment interaction, through a deep knowledge of the Etna terroir and its vines, in order to obtain wines of the highest quality. qualitative level with a strong territorial connotation. Our company and our wine was born from this idea. "

In 2018 Calogero and Rita crown the dream of owning an old vineyard, in an area with a very high quality vocation and thus buy a second vineyard in the Pignatuni district, in the municipality of Randazzo (North Etna).

Currently the company produces 4 wines: two Etna Rosso from the two owned vineyards, an Etna Rosato from a small portion of the Pettinociarelle vineyard and an Etna Bianco from an organic vineyard run in the municipality of Randazzo.
