Lilliano Winery

An ancient story whose first news of Village of Lilliano they date back to the Middle Ages. At that time it was a fortified complex including the Church of Santa Cristina, characteristic for its single large nave (unusual for the parish churches of Chianti). While maintaining the medieval layout evident in the topography, in the cellars and in the surrounding walls, the architecture has passed, in various stages, to its current nineteenth-century appearance.

The bottling and marketing of wines was started in 1958 by Princess Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri, whose family bought the estate in 1920. From that moment on, a careful study in search of perfection began. The estate now offers important vintage wines that have been awarded and re-awarded over the years.
