Barbieri Distillery
In 1912 the brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri inherited a liquor company from their father Giuseppe. From that moment, after 7 long years of work, Aperol was born in 1919. In a short time it became the most consumed drink among young people in Venetian bacari and in the cafes of Padua, and soon spread throughout Italy as well.
It was in the 1950s that the famous recipe that made Aperol Spritz so popular was born. With the acquisition by the Campari Group at the beginning of the 2000s and the strong advertising impulse in which the Group decides to invest, Aperol spread its notoriety internationally with resounding success.
Even today it rides the wave and remains firmly in the first places among the most popular and consumed aperitifs.
