In 1845 the Milanese pharmacist Bernardino Branca created a bitter based on aromatic herbs, the still known Fernet-Branca today, not imagining that soon his elixir would become a worldwide success.

In fact, in a short time, distribution spreads from Milan to the entire region and then expands to a large part of the country. Towards the end of the 19th century, Fernet-Branca was presented at international exhibitions, thus starting to make itself known in the main European capitals, in the United States and Argentina.

It was in 1905 that the famous distinctive brand of the distillate was born, with the eagle grabbing a bottle as if it were "resting" on the Earth, by the liberty artist Leopoldo Metlicovitz.
