A bicentennial story of a family that has been able to combine passion and quality, giving life to a brand that is now an icon of an entire nation. Bortolo Nardini was born in 1739 in Segonzano; tradition of those times was to distill the pomace to derive a source of income, the job was in fact undertaken by our master distiller who "armed" with a mobile still went to third parties to produce their grappa.

Thus it was that he arrived in Bassano del Grappa where, due to an accident, he was forced to stop. During his convalescence he had the opportunity to reflect and develop the idea of increasing his vocation and passion and to establish the headquarters of his business right there in Bassano del Grappa. Thus he bought "the Osteria al Ponte" which has now become "Grapperia Nardini", to produce grappa on a permanent basis and on the other hand and resell it.

In 1779 the Aquavite di Vinaccia was born, the first Nardini branded grappa.
