The story
The Tenuta di Biserno project was initiated by Lodovico and Piero Antinori together with their nephew Niccolò Marzichi Lenzi. The founders carried out a parcel-by-parcel study that led to the establishment of multiple production units and to the creation of the estate's flagship wine, Biserno.
Production philosophy
Focus on terroir and parcel-by-parcel selection: emphasis on grape quality, knowledge of the different microclimates and of specific soils that enhance Bordeaux varieties, with winemaking aimed at preserving expressiveness and finesse.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located in the municipality of Bibbona, in the Alta Maremma, bordering the historic Bolgheri area. Soils range from alluvial to marine, sandy and clayey, with occurrences of the typical conglomerate of the Bolgheri area. Notable on the property are the large vineyard "Bellaria" and the parcel known as Vigna Lodovico.
