A result of Donnafugata's constant commitment, located in a unique territory for climate and terroir, the Tancredi is primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Nero d'Avola, with the possible addition of other varieties depending on the vintage.
The wine displays an intense ruby red color with garnet hues that intensify as it ages. On the nose, it opens with a rich and complex bouquet where the notes of ripe red fruits dominate, enriched by nuances of tobacco, cocoa, and sweet spices resulting from maturation in barriques.
On the palate, the Tancredi DOC shows a robust structure, yet elegant at the same time, with well-integrated tannins that lead to a long and persistent finish. The balance between acidity and body is masterful, making it an ideal companion for rich and flavorful dishes such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses.
Aged in oak barrels for a period that can vary from 12 to 14 months before further refinement in the bottle, the Tancredi achieves an excellent expression of Sicilian viticultural potential. It is a wine that can be enjoyed immediately, but also has great aging potential.
