The Nero d'Avola i Nobili di Chiaramonte, produced by the renowned Firriato winery, is a red wine that embodies the essence of the Sicilian terroir. Known for its robustness and structure, Nero d'Avola is the most important and representative grape variety of the island, offering a profound understanding of the regional viticulture context through its unique character.

The Nero d'Avola i Nobili presents an intense ruby red color, a sign of its youthful vivacity. On the nose, spicy and fruity notes are immediately evident, with accents of ripe cherry, plum, and a slight touch of tobacco and chocolate, resulting from a careful aging process in wooden barrels.

On the palate, the wine is vigorous and full-bodied, expertly balanced by well-structured tannins and a fresh acidity. Its long-lasting flavor allows for the appreciation of nuances of dark fruit and sweet spices, blending into an elegant and persistent finish.

An ideal companion for robust dishes such as red meat roasts, game, and aged cheeses, the Nero d'Avola i Nobili di Chiaramonte - Firriato is an excellent example of how wine can express the character and tradition of its land of origin. Perfect to be enjoyed now, but with an aging potential that promises to evolve and enrich in the coming years.

Winery history
Founded as a family project by Salvatore Di Gaetano in the 1980s, Firriato has grown by expanding its presence across multiple estates in Sicily and bringing the island’s wines to international markets. The family has remained actively involved in technical supervision and brand development, over time establishing estates dedicated to production, ampelographic research and hospitality.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues an approach focused on respect for the land: careful selection of soils, promotion of local grape varieties and sustainability-focused agricultural management. Firriato declares the conversion of its vineyards to organic farming and has undertaken initiatives to offset and reduce the company's climate footprint.
Terroir and vineyards
The company's holdings are distributed across several estates that represent different terroirs: the hills of the Agro Trapanese, the slopes of Mount Etna and the maritime viticulture of the island of Favignana. The individual estates mentioned in the sources include Baglio Sorìa, Borgo Guarini, Dàgala Borromeo, Pianoro Cuddìa, Giudeo, Cavanera Etnea and Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.
