Santi's Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG "Santico" is a wine that captures the essence of Valpolicella, a territory known for its red wines of great character and intensity. Produced by the historic Santi winery, this Amarone is an excellent example of how the traditional method of drying grapes can give life to a wine of extraordinary complexity and depth.

Visually, it presents an intense garnet red color, a sign of its richness and concentration. On the nose, the wine releases an enveloping and complex bouquet, with notes of ripe fruit, such as cherries in alcohol and plums, enriched by nuances of spices, chocolate and a light hint of tobacco, testifying to its maturation in wood.

On the palate, this Amarone della Valpolicella is rich and full, with soft and well-integrated tannins. The acidity is balanced, contributing to the freshness of the wine. Intense flavors of ripe fruit, chocolate, spices and a persistent aftertaste are perceived which invite a slow and satisfying tasting.

This wine is ideal for pairing with intense and tasty dishes, such as braised meats, stews, game and mature cheeses. It is also an excellent meditation wine, to be appreciated in moments of relaxation and contemplation.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
