The "Gravello" by Librandi is a surprising expression of the Calabrian territory, precisely encapsulated in a bottle that encompasses history, tradition, and innovation. This Rosso IGT wine stands out for its unique blend of Gaglioppo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, carefully selected from vineyards situated on the picturesque hills of Cirò Marina, a viticulturally significant area in the region.
The distinctiveness of "Gravello" lies in its winemaking and aging process. After harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, and then the wine is aged in French oak barriques for about 12-14 months, followed by further aging in the bottle. This method gives the wine a robust yet harmonious structure, with well-integrated tannins and a remarkable aromatic persistence.
Visually, the wine presents an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections that develop with aging. On the nose, it exhibits intriguing notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a slight balsamic touch. Upon tasting, it opens with intense red fruit integrated with hints of vanilla and black pepper, melding into a complex and persistent structure, culminating in a long and satisfying finish.
"Gravello" by Librandi is ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Its complexity and elegance also make it an excellent meditation wine. Considered a flagship of the Librandi winery, it is a wine that tells the essence of its terroir with every sip. Ideal for a collectible cellar or for celebrating special occasions, "Gravello" is a symbol of excellence in Calabrian winemaking.
