The Rosso Toscana IGT "Pian del Ciampolo" by Montevertine captures the essence of Tuscany with its elegant structure and distinctive character. Originating from the renowned Montevertine area in the heart of Chianti, this wine is primarily made from Sangiovese grapes, with small additions of Canaiolo and Colorino, reflecting the wine-making tradition of the region.
Vinification is carried out with great care, following methods that emphasize the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for about 12 months, followed by additional months in the bottle before release. This process endows "Pian del Ciampolo" with remarkable complexity and aging potential.
Visually, the wine exhibits a vibrant ruby-red color. The nose reveals intense aromas of cherry, berries, and delicate spicy and floral notes, complemented by a light hint of tobacco and damp earth, typical of Sangiovese. On the palate, it is well-balanced with good acidity and silky tannins leading to a persistent, citrusy finish.
"Rosso Toscana IGT - Pian del Ciampolo" pairs splendidly with Tuscan dishes such as pappardelle with wild boar or bistecca alla fiorentina. It is also excellent with aged cheeses and cured meats, where its structure and acidity elegantly cut through the richness of the foods.
This wine represents an excellent choice for those looking to explore high-quality Tuscan red wines with an authentic character and a strong expression of their territory.
