Braida's Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Montebruna" represents a point of reference in the modern and high-quality interpretation of the Barbera vine, best expressing the potential of this Piedmontese native. Braida, a winery founded by Giacomo Bologna, has always believed in the ability of this vine to produce wines of great expressiveness and structure, and "Montebruna" is confirmation of this, combining tradition and innovation.
The wine has an intense ruby red color, with violet reflections that testify to its liveliness. On the nose, "Montebruna" explodes with a rich and complex bouquet, where the notes of ripe red fruits dominate, such as cherries and plums, enriched by elegant nuances of vanilla, chocolate and sweet spices, the result of careful aging in wood which enriches the aroma without overpowering the freshness of the fruit.
In the mouth, Barbera d'Asti "Montebruna" reveals itself to be full and enveloping, with a soft structure supported by a lively acidity which is a distinctive characteristic of the Barbera grape. The tannins are ripe and well integrated, contributing to a harmonious and complex sip. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant return of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.
This wine is extremely versatile at the table, capable of accompanying a wide range of dishes, from robust first courses to red meats, from medium-aged cheeses to international cuisine, demonstrating a remarkable ability to adapt.
