The name "Magari" represents Angelo Gaja's desire to undertake a new challenge in Tuscany after the successes achieved with Langhe wines. The Bolgheri estate grows varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. These varieties adapt perfectly to the microclimate of the area, characterized by extraordinary brightness and the mild breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The composition of the wine is mainly based on Merlot, which contributes an elegant and ripe fruit, combined with the structure and refinement of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Thanks to the long period of aging in barrique, an intense complexity develops, highlighted by the presence of elegant evolutionary notes.

The wine is an interpretation that emphasizes the harmony, balance and soft ripeness of the fruit. The fermentations take place separately, following the different ripening phases of the grapes. After 18 months of aging in French oak barriques, the wine presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby color.

The bouquet offers aromas of small dark berries, cherry, ripe plum, wild Mediterranean herbs and touches of graphite. In the mouth, it shows a solid structure with evolved and silky tannins. The core is elegant and persistent, with an appreciable aromatic complexity. The finish is harmonious, balanced and long-lasting.

Winery history
The Gaja family has been present in the Langhe since the second half of the 19th century; the estate, established in the community of Barbaresco, became internationally renowned thanks to its modernization choices and the bottling of wines from individual vineyards. In the 1960s and 1970s Angelo Gaja introduced single-vineyard labels and experimented with techniques and grape varieties new to the area. Over time the estate has expanded beyond the heart of the Langhe with investments and holdings in other Italian regions.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of quality through the enhancement of individual crus, direct management of the grapes, technical improvements in the vineyard and winery, and a focus on balancing tradition and experimentation.
Terroir and vineyards

Awards and recognitions
Broad international recognition: Gaja wines consistently attract attention and high scores from critics and specialist guides, and regularly appear in prestigious auctions and collections.
