The Barbaresco DOCG "Montersino" by Albino Rocca is a refined and complex expression of the Nebbiolo grape, grown in the prestigious vineyards located in the Barbaresco area, in the heart of Piedmont. The Albino Rocca winery, known for its dedication to quality and for its respectful approach towards the territory and its traditions, produces this Barbaresco by carefully selecting the grapes coming from the single Montersino vineyard, in order to offer a wine that reflects the uniqueness and specificity of this particular microzone.
Visually, Barbaresco "Montersino" presents itself with an intense garnet red color, typical of Nebbiolo-based wines, which evolves into orange shades as the years pass. On the nose, the wine offers a rich and varied aromatic bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, intertwine with floral accents of rose and violet, enriched by touches of spices, licorice, tobacco and a subtle mineral vein , fruit of the expression of the Montersino terroir.
In the mouth, "Montersino" demonstrates extraordinary elegance and complexity, with fine but present tannins that give structure and longevity to the wine. The balance between acidity and alcohol is impeccable, leading to a long and persistent finish that lets the fruity and spicy notes emerge again, with an aftertaste that recalls minerality and floral elegance.
Ideally paired with red meat dishes, game, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, Albino Rocca's Barbaresco "Montersino" is also a perfect wine for special occasions or to be appreciated in solitude, as a moment of pure oenological pleasure.
