Flagship cuvées: Special Cuvée, La Grande Année, R.D, and Vieilles Vignes Françaises Traditional practices: hand riddling and extended aging on the lees.
Winery history
Founded in 1829 in Aÿ, the Maison has remained in the same family for generations and has gained international renown, largely thanks to the stewardship of figures such as Élisabeth "Lily" Bollinger. Over the years Bollinger has gradually expanded its vineyards and cellars, preserving traditional practices and a strong identity rooted in family continuity and quality.
Production philosophy
Bollinger's style is based on emphasizing fruit expression, with a strong focus on Pinot Noir, extended lees aging, the use of reserve wines kept in magnums and winemaking in wooden barrels: principles intended to build complexity, structure and longevity.
Terroir and vineyards
The Maison farms vineyards in the heart of Champagne: areas such as Aÿ, Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Among the most celebrated parcels are the ungrafted clos, which supply the grapes for the cuvée Vieilles Vignes Françaises.
Awards and recognitions
It holds historic accolades, including a Royal Warrant awarded in the 19th century, and enjoys a wide international reputation for the quality of its cuvées.
