The "Sherazade" Nero d'Avola by Donnafugata is a red wine that perfectly embodies the essence of the most authentic and sunny Sicily. Produced with 100% Nero d'Avola grapes, it comes from one of the most renowned wineries on the island, famous for its passion and for the quality of its wines.

In color, "Sherazade" presents itself with an intense ruby that foreshadows the complexity and richness found in the glass. On the nose, this wine offers a rich and evocative bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, enriched by nuances of sweet spices and a light floral note of violet.

On the palate, the Nero d'Avola "Sherazade" surprises with its extraordinary drinkability. Well-balanced, with a good tannic structure, yet at the same time soft and enveloping. The acidity is well-measured and contributes to maintaining a pleasant freshness that invites the next sip. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant return of red fruits and spices.

This wine pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from grilled meat to aged cheeses and robust traditional Sicilian cuisine. It is also excellent to savor on its own, as a moment of pure pleasure after a long day.

"Sherazade" is a wine that best expresses the vitality and warmth of its origin's terroir and stands out for its elegance and personality. A must for lovers of Sicilian wines and for those looking for a characterful and pleasantly fruity red.

Winery history
Donnafugata began as an entrepreneurial project of the Rallo family, led by Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo. The modern company grew out of the family’s historical roots in the province of Marsala. Since its founding the brand has expanded its presence across several Sicilian territories and is now led by the next generation. Over the years the company has complemented its traditional production with sustainability initiatives, experimentation with indigenous grape varieties, and cultural projects connected to art and music.
Production philosophy
Enhancing biodiversity and Sicily's indigenous grape varieties, combining respect for the land with sustainable practices. Donnafugata focuses on carefully crafted, sometimes niche wines rooted in distinct territories, with a strong connection to the arts and cultural initiatives such as Donnafugata Music & Wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is spread across several estates in Sicily: Contessa Entellina, the volcanic island of Pantelleria, the Vittoria district, the slopes of Etna and the historic cellars of Marsala. Each area is employed to express different grape varieties and styles, from Pantelleria’s passito wines to the reds of Vittoria and Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Donnafugata's iconic wines, particularly the Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé, have received accolades and high ratings from Italian and international guides and publications, including Gambero Rosso, DoctorWine, Veronelli, and other international reviewers cited by the company.
