The Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG "Floramundi" by Donnafugata is a true expression of the Sicilian land from which it comes. This red wine is the result of the careful vinification of two native varieties: Nero d'Avola and Frappato.

Donnafugata winery is renowned for its commitment to creating wines that reflect the richness and complexity of the Sicilian terroir. Floramundi is a splendid example of this philosophy, offering a wine with a distinct personality and strong identity.

Visually, Floramundi entices with its vibrant ruby-red color, with violet hints. On the nose, the bouquet is enchanting with ripe red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, enriched by floral nuances and a subtle spicy note that makes the aroma complex and inviting.

On the palate, the magic continues with a balanced and harmonious structure. The entry is soft, followed by a pleasant freshness that pairs well with the silky tannins. The presence of Frappato gives the wine a lively acidity and a persistent fruity character, while Nero d'Avola provides structure and longevity.

Floramundi is ideal for pairing with a wide range of dishes. It matches perfectly with grilled red meats, mushroom-based dishes, aged cheeses, and even spicy ethnic cuisine. It is advisable to serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C to enhance all its qualities.

Donnafugata produces this wine with a respect for the environment, using sustainable farming practices that ensure not only the health of the vineyard but also that of the consumers. Floramundi is not just a wine, but an experience that carries with it the passion and history of one of the most fascinating wine-producing territories in Italy.

Winery history
Donnafugata began as an entrepreneurial project of the Rallo family, led by Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo. The modern company grew out of the family’s historical roots in the province of Marsala. Since its founding the brand has expanded its presence across several Sicilian territories and is now led by the next generation. Over the years the company has complemented its traditional production with sustainability initiatives, experimentation with indigenous grape varieties, and cultural projects connected to art and music.
Production philosophy
Enhancing biodiversity and Sicily's indigenous grape varieties, combining respect for the land with sustainable practices. Donnafugata focuses on carefully crafted, sometimes niche wines rooted in distinct territories, with a strong connection to the arts and cultural initiatives such as Donnafugata Music & Wine.
Terroir and vineyards
Production is spread across several estates in Sicily: Contessa Entellina, the volcanic island of Pantelleria, the Vittoria district, the slopes of Etna and the historic cellars of Marsala. Each area is employed to express different grape varieties and styles, from Pantelleria’s passito wines to the reds of Vittoria and Etna.
Awards and recognitions
Donnafugata's iconic wines, particularly the Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé, have received accolades and high ratings from Italian and international guides and publications, including Gambero Rosso, DoctorWine, Veronelli, and other international reviewers cited by the company.
