The Sicilia DOC Nero d'Avola "Saia" by Feudo Maccari is a true celebration of Sicilian viticultural traditions. This refined red wine is produced exclusively with Nero d'Avola grapes, a native Sicilian vine that best expresses the unique terroir of this island. Feudo Maccari Winery, located in the heart of the Noto area, is renowned for its dedication to blending traditional methods with modern technologies, resulting in wines of extreme quality and character.
The vinification of "Saia" involves a prolonged maceration of the grapes to extract maximum color and aromatic complexity. The aging takes place in French oak barriques for about 14 months, followed by an additional 6 months of bottle refinement before being released on the market. This process contributes to giving the wine a robust structure and rich aromatic complexity.
Visually, "Saia" presents an intense and deep ruby-red color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of aromas reminiscent of blackberry, black cherry, and spicy notes of vanilla and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is full and enveloping, with a perfect balance between soft tannins and a lively freshness that invites another sip. The notes of ripe fruit combine with nuances of chocolate and tobacco, leading to a long and persistent finish.
Perfect as an accompaniment to rich and flavorful dishes such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, the Sicilia DOC Nero d'Avola "Saia" by Feudo Maccari is an excellent example of how a great wine can enhance both traditional and contemporary cuisine. A true gem for lovers of high-expression Sicilian wines.
