Endrizzi's Gewurztraminer is a particularly intense and aromatic white wine, produced in the locality of Masetto, in San Michele all'Adige in the province of Trento.
It is obtained from 100% Gewurztraminer grapes, also known as Traminer Aromatico, from the Masetto and Maso Kinderleit vineyards cultivated with guyot on porphyry and carbonate soils. The grapes are harvested manually and upon arrival in the cellar they are immediately pressed; the must obtained remains to macerate at a controlled temperature in steel tanks, then the skins are removed and the free-run must continues with alcoholic fermentation, again in controlled steel. After racking, the wine ages on its lees for a few months with frequent batonnage.
Gewurztraminer Endrizzi shows an intense straw yellow color with golden hues. The nose is particularly aromatic, with intense aromas of tropical fruit such as lychee, mixed with floral hints of rose and spicy notes of pepper and cloves. In the mouth it is rather soft, very enveloping and full-bodied, with a long and persistent slightly almond finish.
It goes perfectly with smoked fish appetizers, is excellent with vegetable risotto and is ideal in combination with soups and fish first courses.
