The Sagrantino di Montefalco Riserva 25° DOCG, produced by the renowned Arnaldo Caprai winery, represents an excellent example of Italian viticultural skill in crafting structured red wines with long aging potential. Presented in an imposing MAGNUM bottle, this wine is celebratory, not just for its size but also for the quality and care invested in its production.

The Sagrantino di Montefalco Riserva 25° DOCG is made exclusively from Sagrantino grapes, a native varietal of Umbria, hand-harvested in vineyards located in the fertile soils of Montefalco. The vine density, low yield per hectare, and meticulous selection of grapes are key to achieving a wine with an intense and complex organoleptic profile.

Aging, which lasts for at least 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by at least 6 months of bottle refinement, endows the wine with a robust yet elegant tannic structure. The result is a deep ruby-red wine, which over time evolves into garnet shades.

Aromatically, the Sagrantino di Montefalco Riserva 25° DOCG offers a complex bouquet, where scents of ripe red fruits emerge, along with spicy notes of black pepper and touches of dark chocolate, enriched by nuances of tobacco and leather due to the aging in wood. On the palate, it is vigorous yet balanced, with excellent aromatic persistence that reflects its rich bouquet.

This wine is ideal for pairing with intense dishes like braised meats, game, and aged cheeses. Its complexity also makes it enjoyable on its own, as a wine for meditation, particularly a few years after its vintage, when it best expresses the characteristic evolutionary potential of Sagrantino di Montefalco.
