The Gran Cuvée Brut 169ème Edition Krug represents the most refined expression of the Champagne tradition, born in the heart of the historic Champagne region in France. This complex blend expertly highlights various vintages and grape varieties, mainly Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, selected to impart balance and depth to the wine.

It is the result of patient aging that gives it a rich and enveloping character, with bottle maturation that enhances creaminess and persistence. In the glass, it presents a fine and lively perlage, accompanied by aromas of ripe fruit, toasted yeast, hazelnut, and hints of sweet spices that intertwine in an elegant and complex bouquet.

On the palate, it is silky, with a perfect balance between freshness and structure, ideal to accompany delicate flavors such as shellfish, foie gras, or fish-based dishes. A sensory experience that pays tribute to the art of the Maison Krug.

Winery history
Founded by Joseph Krug in 1843 in Reims, the Maison built its reputation through a focus on quality and the practice of blending, which allows it to preserve and combine the characteristics of many base wines. Over time the Krug family has developed emblematic projects such as the Clos du Mesnil and the Clos d'Ambonnay, and has maintained strong ties with selected growers.
Production philosophy
Krug emphasizes the individuality of wines from single plots: each is vinified and evaluated separately before being assembled. The Maison values patience, respect for the terroir and close collaboration with growers through the Krug Growers' Circle.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquartered in Reims, the grapes come from numerous crus and parcels across the Champagne region, with notable examples such as Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay. Krug uses both estate-owned vineyards and grapes supplied by carefully selected contract growers.
