Maculan's Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC is a sweet dessert wine, emblematic of the Veneto region and, in particular, of the Breganze area. This wine represents the excellence and winemaking tradition of the Maculan family, which, for generations, has dedicated itself to the production of high quality wines, with particular attention to dessert wines and desserts.
Torcolato, whose name derives from the traditional method of "torcolare" or pressing the dried grapes, is produced exclusively with Vespaiola grapes, an indigenous vine that finds the ideal environment in the hills of Breganze to express its peculiarity. The grapes, left to dry until January following the harvest, a natural concentration of sugars and aromas, are then delicately pressed and the must obtained slowly ferments in small oak barrels, where the wine matures for several months, acquiring complexity and unique nuances.
Visually, Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC presents itself with an intense and brilliant golden color, which anticipates the richness and intensity of the wine. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and complex, with aromas of candied fruit, dried apricot, honey, and notes of vanilla and sweet spices, enriched by a touch of citrus which gives freshness and liveliness to the olfactory profile.
In the mouth, Torcolato di Maculan reveals an extraordinary concentration and a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. The intense flavors of ripe fruit and honey intertwine with spicy and vanilla notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, with a pleasant mineral vein that invites another sip.
Ideal as a meditation wine or paired with desserts, blue cheeses and foie gras, Maculan's Torcolato Passito Breganze DOC is a unique tasting experience, which celebrates the richness of Venetian viticulture and the mastery of the Maculan family in creating exceptional passito wines quality and refinement.
