Winery Bodegas Toro Albalá

The family traces its winemaking origins to a small cellar established near the Noria; the present Bodegas Toro Albalá was consolidated when José María Toro Albalá converted an old power station into a winemaking and aging facility, boosting the production of vintage wines and the accumulation of historic barrels still used today.

The estate focuses on a vintage-based approach and manual practices: vineyard selection, traditional drying of the grapes for the PX, extended aging in barrels, and artisanal packaging with numbered labels and seals to emphasize the uniqueness of each bottle.

Located in Aguilar de la Frontera, it operates within the protected Montilla‑Moriles area, which is characterized by albariza soils and a long tradition of cultivating Pedro Ximénez.

The Don PX labels and some historic vintages have received high scores from international critics and medals at wine competitions; the winery is cited among the notable Spanish producers in its appellation.
