Winery history Cantine Olivella

The name derives from the 'dell'Olivella' spring located at the foot of Monte Somma; the area preserves traces of a long winemaking tradition. The current estate was established within the Vesuvian territory and has recovered and restored a historic building that integrates the oldest part of the estate with new facilities dedicated to winemaking and hospitality.

Production philosophy

Enhance the native grape varieties of Monte Somma and produce wines that express the volcanic character of the terroir, adopting soil-friendly agricultural practices and a manual approach to the most delicate vineyard operations.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located on the slopes of Monte Somma, facing the Gulf of Naples, on sandy, mineral-rich volcanic soils. The vineyards cover elevations of approximately 300 to 650 metres above sea level and are situated in the municipalities of Pollena Trocchia, Sant'Anastasia and Somma Vesuviana.
