Winery history Dal Forno Romano

The Dal Forno family has been cultivating vineyards for generations. Romano Dal Forno began producing wine under his own name in the 1980s after meeting Giuseppe Quintarelli. The first vintage to bear the Dal Forno name dates to 1983. In subsequent years the winery invested in a new cellar, and management is now also carried on by the children, with Marco Dal Forno among the leading figures in the family business.

Production philosophy

Artisanal orientation and meticulous attention to quality: high planting density, very low yields per vine, rigorous grape selection and thorough vineyard monitoring. The approach includes grape withering for the most prestigious wines and extended aging in wood to achieve concentration and balance.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Val d'Illasi, on the eastern side of the Valpolicella appellation, north of Verona. The vineyards lie on terraced slopes with alluvial soils of gravel, silt and clay, benefiting from good ventilation and favourable exposure; the declared elevations range from approximately 280 to 350 metres.
