Winery history Gianni Doglia

The family story begins with Eugenio Rivella, who in 1947 purchased land in the Annunziata hamlet of Castagnole delle Lanze to produce wine from his own grapes. Over the years management passed to the next generation and, from the late 1990s/early 2000s, to their son Gianni, an oenologist trained in enology and viticulture who has led the estate through its growth. From 2000 Gianni took direct charge of the estate, and in 2001 he vinified Moscato d'Asti from the family vineyards for the first time. In 2013 his sister Paola joined the business full-time. In 2022 Gianni was selected by Gambero Rosso as Winemaker of the Year.

Production philosophy

Family-run, with attentive care from vineyard to cellar and respect for the land: the estate favors vineyard and winemaking practices that aim to authentically express the identity of Monferrato, with attention to quality at every stage of production.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located between the Langhe and Monferrato, specifically in the municipalities of Castagnole delle Lanze, Coazzolo and Nizza Monferrato; part of the wine landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
