Winery history Louis Moreau

The Moreau family has been present in Chablis for generations. The current management under Louis Moreau is reported to have begun with the establishment/revival of the domaine in 1994. Today the estate focuses its production on the various appellations of Chablis.

Production philosophy

The estate prioritizes work in the vineyard with attention to the environment, hand-harvesting the most prized parcels, and winemaking aimed at the purity and minerality of the terroir, with limited intervention in the cellar.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the heart of the Chablis appellation, the estate owns parcels across all four appellation levels: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru and Chablis Grands Crus; the soils of the Grand Cru parcels are described as Kimmeridgian in origin.
