Description

This extraordinary Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, presented in an elegant Magnum bottle and housed in a refined wooden case, is the result of the meticulous selection by Monte Zovo winery. The vineyards, located in the heart of Valpolicella, benefit from an ideal microclimate that is reflected in the quality of the grapes.

Monte Zovo's Amarone della Valpolicella is crafted through the traditional practice of appassimento, where the Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes are gently dried for several months, concentrating their sugars and aromas. After fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barriques for a period ranging from 2 to 3 years, followed by further aging in the bottle.

Visually, it presents a deep ruby red color, which tends towards garnet with aging. On the nose, complex notes of ripe fruit like cherry and plum emerge, along with nuances of spices, chocolate, and a slight hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine reveals a robust structure, balanced by pleasant acidity and velvety tannins, offering a long and persistent finish.

This Amarone is ideal for accompanying rich and flavorful dishes such as braised meats, stews, and aged cheeses. It is also perfect as a meditation wine, to be savored on its own to appreciate its complexity and depth.

Winery history

The estate is managed by the Cottini family: its origins date back to 1925, and the business has developed over several generations into an operation with multiple estates. Over time the winery has expanded its production and wine portfolio, while maintaining direct control over the entire process from vineyard to bottle.
