Measured elegance and mineral tension characterize this Barbaresco DOCG from Castello di Verduno. Visually it shows a bright ruby color that evolves toward garnet hues; on the nose there are dried roses, ripe cherry, subtle notes of forest floor and a spicy thread that fades into tobacco and licorice. On the palate it reveals a good balance between lively acidity and well-sculpted tannins, with a medium-full body and a softness that mellows over time; the finish is clear but never intrusive, with fruity echoes and a saline streak that invites another sip.

Enjoy it both at the table and in contemplative tasting: try it with roasted or braised meats, mushrooms and truffle dishes, or with aged cheeses. Serve at around 16–18 °C and, when you want to unveil its aromas, decant briefly. This is a Barbaresco that combines finesse and character, suited to those seeking well-defined wines able to accompany structured dishes without overpowering them.

Historic castle associated with the House of Savoy. Production of Barolo and Barbaresco and the showcasing of Verduno Pelaverga. Family-run with integrated winery, restaurant and hotel operations. Traditional winemaking for the main appellations: fermentation in open vats and long aging in large casks. Availability of single-vineyard wines tied to specific crus/localities.
Winery history
The building has Renaissance origins and a long local history; it was rebuilt in later periods, and in 1838 it was acquired by Carlo Alberto di Savoia, who entrusted management of the estate to a winemaker. In the 20th century the property passed into the hands of local families, who developed wine tourism by transforming the castle into a facility with an on-site cellar, restaurant and hotel, while continuing the area's historic wine production.
Production philosophy
The estate states it focuses on wines that clearly express the Langhe, favoring low-intervention practices and traditional vinification for the major appellations, with attention to vine care in the vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located between the municipality of Verduno and the Barbaresco area, in the heart of the Langhe. The producer is committed to the local appellations and to promoting native grape varieties such as Pelaverga piccolo, as well as Nebbiolo for Barolo and Barbaresco.
