Barbera d'Alba Pelisa is a very didactic example of the typical characteristics of this vine in the Roero terroir, the grapes in fact come from the company's younger vineyards, mainly located in Priocca, in the Bricco Genestreto cru, a very suitable area with clayey soils .
After harvesting, the vinification continues for about 15 days and then begins a short period of aging: 70% in steel containers and the remaining 30% in oak for a period of a few months. The result is a wine that can be defined everyday, which can be drunk willingly and with extreme ease.
An intense ruby red glass with lively reflections. Athe nose reveals hints of black cherry, cherry and on the finish of wet earth. On the palate it does not denote a great structure, and persistence but a full and velvety wine with a pleasant and balanced freshness given by the acidity.
"Pelisa" is a versatile red suitable both in combination with an aperitif and to accompany a meal and in particular mixed grilled meat and cold cuts. If served at a slightly lower temperature than the classic 18 ° C, it is very pleasant even in the hot season.
