This Barbera d’Asti DOCG from Scarpa is offered in magnum format, a bottle suited to a shared table and occasions when wine accompanies a meal for several people. The name identifies a Piedmont appellation associated with the Barbera grape; however, the vintage and specific details about winemaking or ageing are not provided here. Without further information, it is best not to assign particular aromas, structure or bottle-ageing potential to the wine. The magnum format works well for serving around the table and also makes this an interesting gift for lovers of Italian red wines.

At the table, it can be paired with pasta dishes featuring savoury sauces, cured meats, roast meats and medium-aged cheeses. The choice of pairing can be guided by the recipe and personal preference. It is advisable not to serve it too warm, so that it can accompany the meal pleasantly. The larger format invites a relaxed approach to serving: once opened, the bottle can be shared among several glasses, without implying a different level of quality or greater ageing potential. A straightforward choice for dinner with friends or a festive lunch, when you would like to serve a Scarpa wine in magnum format. For the full technical information, it is best to check the vintage and the producer’s details.
