The Barbera d'Asti DOC of this winery reflects the attention and care dedicated to the selection of the grapes and the winemaking process, aiming to produce a wine that is both faithful to tradition and capable of expressing the modern potential of the Barbera vine .

The wine has an intense ruby red color, characteristic of the Barbera variety, with violet reflections that highlight its youth and liveliness. On the nose, it offers a rich and inviting olfactory profile, with predominant notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, enriched by spicy nuances and a light touch of vanilla, the result of aging in wood which contributes to giving complexity without overpowering the freshness of the fruit.

In the mouth, the Barbera d'Asti DOC from Marchesi di Gresy reveals a lively acidity typical of the vine, balanced by a good structure and a softness that makes the sip pleasantly harmonious. The flavors are consistent with the olfactory sensations, with a long and satisfying finish that leaves a pleasant sensation of cleanliness and freshness.

Ideal in combination with a wide range of dishes, from pasta with rich meat sauces to grilled meat dishes and mature cheeses, Barbera d'Asti by Marchesi di Gresy is a versatile wine, which can be the protagonist of the table on various occasions .

Winery history
The estate of Tenute Cisa Asinari has been linked to the di Grésy family since the 18th century; the family has owned the Martinenga cru since 1797. Winemaking under the Grésy label in its modern form was begun by Alberto di Grésy around 1973, when the family decided to produce wine exclusively from their own grapes and to promote wines that expressed the identity of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
The estate places great emphasis on vineyard care and on respecting the grape varieties and tradition: winemaking aims to enhance the terroir’s expression without altering it, producing elegant, balanced wines that reflect the character of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located across the Langhe and Monferrato and include Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra and Monte Colombo. Martinenga is regarded as one of the area’s finest geographical indications, and the grapes from all the estates are generally vinified at the Martinenga winery.
