Pairing Red meats, game, aged cheeses
Elegant and full of character, the Barolo DOCG 2022 from Mario Marengo offers a profile that speaks of precision and class. In the glass it shows a garnet red with still-lively highlights; on the nose it opens with memories of ripe red fruit, dried rose, a hint of sweet spices and the earthy notes typical of Nebbiolo. The palate is taut, supported by a fresh acidity and tight but well-integrated tannins; the body is solid without being heavy, and the aromatic density accompanies a persistence that invites a few years of bottle ageing.

It pairs well with structured dishes: braised meats, stewed game, red meats and aged cheeses, but also stands up to more refined pairings such as rich risottos or mushrooms. It is advisable to uncork an hour in advance or decant if young; serving temperature around 18°C. For those who love wines that evolve, it shows excellent prospects for development in the cellar over the next eight to twelve years, always retaining that tannic texture and the mineral component that define its style.
