Barolo Riserva DOCG - Sottocastello di Novello - Magnum - Piazzo Comm. Armando from Sottocastello di Novello, produced by the company Piazzo Comm. Armando, is a wine that fully represents the nobility of Nebbiolo cultivated in the heart of the Langhe. Coming from historic vineyards of Novello, a territory renowned for its optimal territorial composition, this Barolo stands out for its elegant and complex structure.

The long aging in wooden barrels helps to develop deep and articulated aromas, ranging from hints of withered rose and violet to notes of tobacco, licorice, and sweet spices. On the palate, it presents a full body and silky tannins, capable of evolving harmoniously over time. The finish is persistent and refined, typical of the denomination.

Excellent to pair with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, this Barolo Riserva expresses all the richness and elegance that the Novello territory can offer. A tasting experience that embodies the essence of the most authentic Piedmont.

Winery history
The Piazzo family began their activity in the hills of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio in the 1960s: the couple Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia invested in Nebbiolo vineyards and, beginning with the harvest that produced their first wine in 1979, the estate progressively expanded its range to become a leading name in the Langhe. Management later passed to the next generations, who have preserved the family character while introducing innovative practices in the vineyard and cellar.
Production philosophy
The winery combines an artisanal, family-run approach with respect for the land: vineyard care, attention to the Nebbiolo tradition, and the use of modern techniques to enhance the terroir expression of each cru.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the Langhe and Roero, with plots around Alba and in towns such as Mango, Neviglie, Guarene and Novello. The headquarters are located in the hamlet of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, in the municipality of Alba.
