Description

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 33% - Merlot 32% - Cabernet Franc 18% - Pepit Verdot 17% which combines immediate pleasantness and taste-olfactory complexity.

Characterized by an intriguing and bright ruby red colour, this wine reveals great aromatic complexity, a distinctive feature of the vintage.

In the glass, aromas of wild berries, blackberry, raspberry, cherry are released, accompanied by hints of wild rose and spicy notes.

When tasted, the important tannins are perceived, and the sip is crunchy and tasty. Perfect in combination with meat dishes or tastings of aged cheeses with a complex of fruit jams.

Winery history

Tenuta Ornellaia began as a winemaking project on the Tuscan coast and was founded in 1981. Its flagship wine, Ornellaia, made its commercial debut in the late 1980s. Over the years the estate entered into international partnerships and is now part of the Frescobaldi group; the winery has also developed cultural initiatives such as the Vendemmia d'Artista and a historical archive of vintages.

Production philosophy

Striving for excellence through rigorous vineyard care, grape selection and practices designed to express the terroir; with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity conservation, complemented by cultural projects that connect wine and art.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the Bolgheri area on the Tyrrhenian coast of Tuscany, the estate benefits from a Mediterranean microclimate. The soils are described as of marine, alluvial and volcanic origin, with aspects and parcels that vary across the estate.
