Brunello di Montalcino DOCG - Poggio al Granchio - Val di Suga is born in the Tuscan heart of Val di Suga, an area renowned for its ideal vocation for Sangiovese, the flagship grape of this territory. The pure expression of Sangiovese grosso is manifested through careful aging, usually at least 5 years, which includes a period in wooden barrels capable of enhancing elegance and structure.

To the eye, it presents an intense ruby color with garnet reflections, while on the nose it opens with aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry, and plum, accompanied by spicy notes and a slight balsamic hint. The palate is balanced, enveloping, with soft but firm tannins, able to support a long and refined persistence.

It pairs splendidly with red meats, game dishes, and aged cheeses, perfect for those who wish to discover the authentic soul of Montalcino in every sip.

Winery history
The estate was reconverted to vineyards beginning in the 1960s. In 1969 it was acquired by a company that began converting the land to viticulture. The first harvest is recorded in 1973 and the first wine marketed under the Val di Suga label dates from 1975. In the 1980s the company began to promote single-vineyard wines and in 1994 it joined the Tenimenti Angelini group. In 2009 the cru Poggio al Granchio was created; more recently the company's image was redesigned to emphasize the three production areas.
Production philosophy
The style is oriented around the concept of terroir: the estate interprets Sangiovese through three different exposures and soils, producing both single-vineyard wines and blends that seek balance among the components. Attention is paid to the relationship between the landscape, cellar development and tasting.
