Canalicchio’s Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva is a choice for anyone looking for a red wine associated with a well-known appellation. Riserva denotes a category provided for by the appellation’s regulations, but it does not reveal the precise aromatic profile or style of this particular bottle. It is therefore best to let the wine speak for itself in the glass rather than assign it unverified tasting notes. It may suit a convivial occasion or take its place in a selection of classic red wines.

At the table, it can be served with meat dishes, savoury preparations and aged cheeses—pairings that generally work well with structured reds, without assuming specific characteristics of this wine. A suitable red-wine glass is recommended; allow the wine time to express itself and follow personal preference. When choosing the occasion, consider the menu and the guests’ tastes: Riserva and the appellation provide a clear point of reference, while details such as intensity, aromas and palate impressions are best assessed during tasting.
