The Brunello di Montalcino "Filare 25" from the renowned Tassi winery is a wine of extraordinary elegance and depth, capturing the essence of Montalcino viticulture. Produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, this wine represents one of the finest examples of Brunello, renowned for its rigorous aging process, which includes at least four years of maturation, two of which are spent in oak barrels.

With an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, the Filare 25 offers a complex and enveloping bouquet, with olfactory notes of ripe red fruits, spices, leather, and a slight hint of chocolate and tobacco, derived from the long aging in barrels. On the palate, it is rich, with a well-balanced tannic texture and remarkable gustatory persistence.

This Brunello di Montalcino is ideal for accompanying rich red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Its structure and complexity also make it perfect as a meditation wine, to be savored slowly to appreciate all its nuances. The tasting experience is enriched by the aging potential of this wine, which can continue to evolve and refine in the bottle for many years to come.

Tassi Montalcino – Winery in Toscana

Discover the story and wines of Tassi Montalcino.

Family-owned winery in Montalcino producing Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and various IGT wines; it focuses on Sangiovese and on expressing the distinct character of each vineyard in the area.
Region: Toscana
Country: Italia
Grapes: Sangiovese
Production of several Brunello di Montalcino labels. Strong focus on Sangiovese and the vinification of individual crus. Multi-level winery designed for gravity-flow operations, completed in 2019 and constructed with organic materials. Vineyards distributed across several crus in the Montalcino area. A family story that began with beekeeping and retail before focusing on wine production.
Winery history
The story stems from the family's agricultural and beekeeping background, with roots documented since the early decades of the 20th century. Modern winemaking is led by Fabio Tassi, who expanded the family business by renovating the retail spaces and acquiring historic vineyards; the estate converted its original honey-production premises into a winery and today manages several labels linked to the individual crus of Montalcino.
Production philosophy
The approach emphasizes vineyard expression: Sangiovese is regarded as the undisputed protagonist, and many wines are vinified from single vineyards. In the winery, winemaking and aging practices are designed to respect the identity of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located within the municipality of Montalcino, with parcels in areas such as Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Soils range from clayey to more silty/marly depending on the vineyard; the elevation of each cru is indicated on the product sheets.
Awards and recognitions
Noted by industry sources for having received very high critical scores; some reviews even report a 100/100 rating from critics.
