Buio Carignano del Sulcis DOC in mathusalem format offered by Mesa is a wine with a notable presence that is never overpowering: on the nose a weave of ripe red and black fruits emerges, supported by notes of Mediterranean scrub and light spices. The profile is rich without being heavy, with a well-defined tannic texture and a freshness that keeps the sip lively; its sapidity and medium–long persistence make it enjoyable both on the first taste and in the later stages of the bottle.

On the palate it reveals warmth and roundness, balanced by good acidity that promotes its harmony: the fruit returns clearly, accompanied by an herbaceous underpinning that evokes the territory. It is both a contemplative and a table wine, ideal with roasted meats, game and aged cheeses, but also capable of standing up to boldly flavored dishes; serve at around 16–18 °C and allow time after opening or decanting to appreciate its complexity.

Winery history
Masi's history is rooted in Valpolicella Classica. A historic family-owned estate, it has developed and enhanced the wines from dried grapes typical of the region. During the 20th century the company helped popularize practices such as ripasso and launched oenological research and experimentation to refine the appassimento technique and the quality of its Amarone and its high-end bottlings.
Production philosophy
