The Cabernet Franc Friuli Isonzo DOC 2022 from Ronco del Gelso is restrained and direct, an expression of the variety within the appellation. It shows a moderate ruby color; on the nose it offers notes of small red fruits and light herbal hints, complemented by delicate spice nuances and a trace of minerality. The profile is balanced, with present but well-integrated tannins and acidity that supports the overall structure, making the sip smooth and pleasantly drinkable.

It pairs well with dishes of medium structure: flavorful white meats, light game, mushroom-based preparations and medium-aged cheeses can be good matches. Serving temperature around 16–18 °C is recommended, and opening the bottle a little in advance can help the aromatic profile open up. For those wishing to cellar it, a short period of cellar aging can further harmonize the tannins, though the wine is already enjoyable after a relatively short time.
