Cabreo Il Borgo Toscana IGT 1995, produced by Tenute del Cabreo for Folonari, shows the impact of time in a restrained way. In a garnet colour with slightly more orange hues at the rim, it appears balanced and mature: on the nose there are hints of red woodland fruit in a more subdued register, light earthy notes and touches of sweet spices. The tannic texture is softened compared with a young wine, supporting the sip without being intrusive, while the acidity keeps a background freshness.

Suitable for those seeking a bottle that tells of cellar history and development without theatrical effects, it pairs with medium-weight dishes: braised meats, game cooked with restraint or aged cheeses that are not overly powerful. The wooden case underlines care in storage and also makes it a collectible item; we recommend checking the condition of the bottle and capsule before purchase. Serve slightly cool from room temperature to appreciate its evolving complexity.

Approximately 250 hectares of vineyards across the company’s estates. Declared production of approximately 1.2 million bottles. A wine portfolio featuring typical labels from the Veneto and Tuscany.
Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
