Carignano del Sulcis Superiore Gavino di Mesa naturally expresses the Mediterranean character of the variety: ripe red fruits and a touch of jam intertwine with notes of Mediterranean scrub, pepper and a gentle hint of liquorice that never overpowers. The profile is concentrated but not heavy, supported by a present and well-defined tannic framework that provides structure without losing agility; the sensation is warm but framed by good freshness that keeps the sip clean. The color is deep ruby, inviting in the glass.

On the palate the wine shows a balance between softness and tension, with pleasant persistence and fruity echoes that invite a second sip. It pairs naturally with roasted meats, game and aged cheeses, but also holds up well with simpler tomato-and-herb dishes; serve slightly cool to appreciate its dynamics and drinkability. It also offers good aromatic persistence, making it interesting to enjoy now or over the next few years.
