Description

The Chardonnay Sicilia DOC Magnum Conte Hugues by Tenuta Rapitala is a white wine that embodies the elegance of the Chardonnay grape variety interpreted by the unique terroir of western Sicily. Cultivated in the heart of the island, this white stands out for its vibrant freshness and harmonious structure, the result of careful winemaking and skillful aging that combines steel and wooden barrels, preserving the varietal expression without sacrificing complexity and softness.

In the glass, it presents a bright straw yellow color, while on the nose it releases intense aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, citrus, and a slight hint of vanilla, typical elements of well-crafted Chardonnay. On the palate, it is enveloping, with good acidity that makes it balanced and persistent, ideal for accompanying fish dishes, shellfish, and fresh cheeses.

Winery history

The estate was created through the reconstruction undertaken by Hugues Bernard conte de la Gatinais and Gigi Guarrasi after the earthquake in the Valle del Belice. Founded in 1968, the winery has grown by blending indigenous and international grape varieties, maintaining a production approach focused on elegance and a close connection to the territory, now carried forward by the winemaking team listed on the winery's website.

Production philosophy

To showcase Sicily’s diverse micro-terroirs through a sustainable, organic approach to viticulture, with the aim of combining the richness of the Mediterranean landscape with the elegance of French savoir‑faire.
