Elegant and expressive, the Chianti DOCG Borghi D'Elsa in magnum format presents a Mediterranean profile far from predictable: ripe yet crunchy red fruits, a slightly floral note and a hint of dry grass that build an inviting picture without excess. The sip is balanced, with vibrant freshness and fine tannins that support without weighing down; the structure is medium-bodied, the saltiness well calibrated and the finish pleasantly persistent. There’s a solid texture that leaves room for everyday drinkability.

The magnum format helps a slow evolution and gives a sense of rounding that enhances the fruity notes and the softness of the finish. Excellent with bold dishes of Tuscan cuisine — roasts, furred game in simple preparations, aged cheeses and pasta with ragù — but it’s also suited to more informal drinking among friends. Serve at a moderate, slightly cool temperature to appreciate the wine’s dynamism and depth without losing freshness.

Winery history
The Melini family's roots in winemaking date back to the 18th century; the winery is recorded in historical sources as active since 1705. Over the course of the 20th century ownership passed through several hands before becoming part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which still oversees its brand and production.
Production philosophy
The winery combines Chianti tradition with modern winemaking techniques, focusing on vineyard selection and the expression of Sangiovese, either as a single-varietal or in blends with international grape varieties, to produce terroir-driven, ready-to-drink wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The facilities are located in the hills of the Chianti Classico around Gaggiano. Among the estates and vineyards cited in the sources are La Selvanella, Granaio and Terrarossa; the vineyards are situated on hillsides, with exposures and elevations typical of the Chianti Classico area.
