The Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Superiore DOC "Orgiolo" by Marotti Campi is a red wine with a recognizable, characterful profile. Visually it shows an intense, lively ruby color. On the nose it opens with floral and fruity notes, recalling petals and small red fruits, accompanied by hints of spice and a pleasant balsamic component. The entry on the palate is soft, with a balanced structure that supports persistent aromas; the tannins are present but measured, contributing to an overall harmonious and enjoyable impression.

It pairs well with traditional dishes and preparations featuring meat, cured salumi and medium-aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve slightly cool, around 16–18 °C, to enhance the aromas without weighing down the sip. Suitable for informal dinners and convivial occasions, it benefits from tasting in wide glasses that promote olfactory development; for ordinary storage it is preferable to consume it within a few years.

Region: Marche
Country: Italy
Founded: 1860

Historic family-run estate. Specializing in Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Lacrima di Morro d'Alba. Modern winery built in 1999, employing low-impact environmental practices. Vineyards situated at around 180 m above sea level; mixed soils tending toward clay. Recognized in national and international guides.
Winery history
The estate was purchased by the Marotti family in the mid-19th century (first local documentary mention of the vineyard dates to 1886). Giovanni Marotti Campi began modernizing the vineyards in 1991 and the modern winery was built in 1999; the estate remains family-run (Giovanni, Francesca and son Lorenzo).
Production philosophy
Winemaking exclusively from estate-grown grapes; low-impact farming (no irrigation, limited treatments with low-dose products); careful temperature control in the cellar (thermo-conditioned tanks, use of dry ice and nitrogen for whites), pneumatic presses, ageing partly in barriques and energy self-sufficiency via solar panels installed in 2010.
Terroir and vineyards
Estate of about 120 hectares with 53 hectares planted to vines, located in Sant'Amico (Morro d'Alba, AN). Hilly vineyards around 180 m asl, medium-textured soils with notable clay; varied exposures. Main grapes: Lacrima and Verdicchio; small plantings of Montepulciano, Petit Verdot and Cabernet since 1999.
