In the bright hilly area of the Langhe, Borgogno offers the Langhe DOC Riesling Era Ora Biologico, a wine that expresses the perfect meeting between territory and grape variety. This Riesling stands out for its vibrant freshness, typical of the Langhe DOC denomination, and for the organic viticulture that preserves its authenticity and purity.

Produced from selected grapes in vineyards grown without the use of pesticides, the wine captivates the nose with elegant scents of white flowers, citrus fruits, and a slight minerality, a sign of the limestone terroir of the Langhe. On the palate, it is balanced, with a marked acidity that makes it dynamic and persistent, an ideal characteristic to accompany fish dishes, shellfish, or fresh cheeses.

Refinement in stainless steel preserves the varietal aromas and the typical freshness of Riesling, offering a clear and inviting drink. A refined example of Alpine Riesling, capable of telling the charm of organic farming in the Langhe.

Giacomo Borgogno & Figli (Borgogno) – Winery in Piemonte

Discover the story and wines of Giacomo Borgogno & Figli (Borgogno).

A historic Barolo winery producing in a classic style, known for its Nebbiolo crus (Cannubi, Liste, Fossati) and for its recent transition to organic viticulture.
Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia
Founded: 1761
Grapes: Nebbiolo, Timorasso, Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Riesling
Historic Barolo estate founded in 1761. Important cru properties: Cannubi, Liste, Fossati, Cannubi San Lorenzo, San Pietro delle Viole. Traditional winemaking practices: spontaneous fermentation in concrete and long maturation in Slavonian barrels. Conversion to organic viticulture, with organic production available. Acquired by the Farinetti family in 2008, with restorations and a focus on sustainability.
Winery history
Founded in 1761 by Bartolomeo Borgogno, the estate has passed through several generations while maintaining a traditional style. During the twentieth century it expanded its exports and amassed a collection of historic bottles; in 1967 it took the name Giacomo Borgogno & Figli. In 2008 ownership passed to the Farinetti family, who invested in restoring the historic buildings and the cellar without altering its classic character. In the 2010s the estate returned to the exclusive use of concrete for fermentations and began converting to organic production. In recent years Borgogno has also developed projects focused on the traditional Barolo crus and on expanding into areas such as Madonna di Como and the Colli Tortonesi.
Production philosophy
Practising the traditions of the Langhe with an emphasis on slowness and respect for the land: spontaneous fermentations in concrete, long aging in large Slavonian oak casks, and attention to agronomic sustainability with practices that avoid chemical fertilizers and herbicides. The estate states a conservative approach to winemaking, combined with investments in restorations and sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the commune of Barolo, with estates also in Madonna di Como and in the Colli Tortonesi for Timorasso. The soils are predominantly calcareous-clay marls typical of the best exposures in the Langhe.
Awards and recognitions
Conversion to organic farming and organic-certified production; Equalitas certification obtained in 2024; the estate has long been recognized and noted for its collections of historic vintages.
