Château Cheval Blanc's Le Petit Cheval Blanc offers a fascinating exploration of Bordeaux terroir through a white lens, standing out as a rare specimen of white wine from an estate synonymous with excellence in the world of reds. This wine, a masterfully balanced blend of classic Bordeaux varieties, represents the essence of modernity and tradition, showcasing Château Cheval Blanc's ability to create wines of extraordinary complexity and finesse.

Born from the desire to experiment and innovate, Le Petit Cheval Blanc mainly uses Sauvignon Blanc, enriched with nuances brought by other varieties to increase its complexity. The careful selection of grapes and precise vinification give this wine a distinctive character, which reflects the excellence of its illustrious pedigree.

Visually, the wine has a bright straw yellow color, with greenish reflections that announce its freshness and liveliness. On the nose, Le Petit Cheval Blanc explodes with an intense and varied aromatic bouquet, where notes of citrus, white pulp fruit and white flowers dominate, enriched by a light mineral veil that gives depth and refinement.

In the mouth, the first impression is the lively acidity, which brings freshness and dynamism, balanced by a medium structure that envelops the palate with a creamy and harmonious texture. The flavors reflect the olfactory complexity, with a beautiful continuity of citrus and fruity notes, followed by a long and clean finish, which leaves a persistent impression of elegance and balance.

Le Petit Cheval Blanc is a wine that challenges convention, offering a unique experience for those looking for something different from the traditional white wines of Bordeaux. It is a testament to the versatility and innovation of Château Cheval Blanc, ideal for special occasions or as a refined companion to a variety of dishes, from light starters to elaborate fish dishes.

This wine, although already accessible, possesses considerable aging potential, promising to evolve and mature, revealing new nuances of flavor and complexity in the coming years. Le Petit Cheval Blanc is, without a doubt, a celebration of the winemaking mastery and commitment to excellence that characterize Château Cheval Blanc.

Winery history
The earliest traces of cultivation in the area go back centuries, but the estate's modern career began in the 19th century: the core of the property was purchased in 1832 and, from the mid-century, the name "Cheval Blanc" began to establish itself on the market. Throughout the 19th century the estate won international awards and consolidated its reputation. In 1998 the property was acquired by Bernard Arnault and Albert Frère; subsequently LVMH took on a prominent role in its management. For decades Cheval Blanc was classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé A of the Saint-Émilion appellation, a status the estate decided to relinquish in 2021 after re-evaluating the classification criteria.
Production philosophy
The stated approach focuses on long-term vineyard care, the enhancement of individual crus and the pursuit of precision in both vineyard and cellar. In recent years the estate has emphasized agroecology and agroforestry practices, promoting biodiversity, livestock grazing and cover crops to improve soil health.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the commune of Saint-Émilion, in the eastern part of the Gironde. The soils are heterogeneous, with gravel, clay and sand, and the property's viticultural position brings it close to both the soils of Pomerol and the typical formations of Saint-Émilion. The vineyard is divided into many parcels, each vinified separately before blending.
Awards and recognitions
Awarded medals at 19th-century World's Fairs and long recognised as Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the Saint-Émilion classification.
