The Morellino di Scansano "Mentore" from Mantellassi winery is a refined example that reflects the excellence of Tuscany’s Maremma region. This red wine is primarily made with Sangiovese grapes, locally known as Morellino, and follows strict regulations to respect its DOCG designation.

In the production of "Mentore," Mantellassi winery carries out a careful selection of the grapes. Vinification involves maceration of the skins for about 15-20 days, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Afterwards, the wine matures in oak barrels for 10-12 months and is further refined in the bottle for at least 4 months before being released to the market.

Upon observation, the Morellino di Scansano "Mentore" presents a deep ruby red color with violet hues. On the nose, it offers refined aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and blackberries, along with spicy notes and a light vanilla touch, deriving from the wood maturation.

On the palate, "Mentore" is distinguished by its balance and well-defined tannic structure. Rich and meaty, this wine expresses all the power and finesse of Sangiovese grapes, with a harmonious aromatic persistence evolving into hints of tobacco and chocolate in the aftertaste.

It is ideal to pair with robust dishes from the Tuscan cuisine, such as game and roasts, and also perfect with aged cheeses. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide variety of occasions, from a casual dinner to a more sophisticated reception.

Choose the Morellino di Scansano DOCG "Mentore" by Mantellassi to explore a Tuscan classic that celebrates the richness and purity of the Sangiovese in one of its most authentic and captivating expressions.
