This red wine from Cantine Amato is presented as Nerello Mascalese IGT and organic. The available information does not specify a vintage, the full composition or production details. The description therefore remains deliberately restrained and does not ascribe unconfirmed characteristics to the wine. The Nerello Mascalese reference identifies the grape variety, while IGT and BIO appear in the product name. It is an option for anyone wishing to explore a red wine associated with this grape and looking for a bottle with an organic indication.

At the table, it can be paired with meat dishes, flavourful pasta dishes and medium-aged cheeses. The choice of pairing can follow personal taste and the character of the recipe. For a casual occasion or a shared meal, it offers a straightforward starting point without calling for elaborate food pairings. The information provided does not allow its colour, aromas, structure or finish to be described reliably; these aspects may vary with the vintage and the winery’s choices. The label and, where available, an up-to-date technical sheet remain the most useful sources for learning more about its profile.

Winery history
The family story began in 1927, when Vincenzo Giardina Papa opened an osteria in Piraino. In 1958, his son-in-law Rosario Amato founded the winery there. Today, the business is run by Salvatore Amato and his family, including his son Rosario.
Production philosophy
Authenticity, a strong connection to place and sustainability are the winery’s stated principles. Vineyard work follows organic viticulture principles; the company has practised organic farming since 2011 and has certified its wines since 2015.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery selects grapes from four Sicilian areas: Patti in the province of Messina, the Jato Valley, Grotte in south-central Sicily, and Marsala. The winery’s Nero d’Avola is associated with Contrada Guastella in the Jato Valley.
